DIGG

Having never visited Digg.com before this evening, once I typed in the URL and pressed "enter", I was shocked to discover that an hour had quickly passed.  After all, I just clicked on that one link…  …and that one, and oh! That article looks interesting, too!  The idea behind Digg.com, is to present news stories that are the most “trending” or, most popular among internet users.  Those stories that are the most shared among users, rate higher on their list.  I found it reflected news that is far more interesting to me, personally, and news that is far more relatable.  In the past, any time that I had visited a news-based web site, I would either get bored very quickly, or leave in disgust.  With Digg.com, I (obviously!) did not have that experience.  For the first time, I feel fulfilled on my news-needs.  I noticed quite quickly that there were not nearly as many political articles, nor as many articles on murder, rape, gang violence, or any similar categories.  I personally found that absolutely refreshing.  The majority of the articles I noticed this evening were educational, informative, or even slightly eye-rolling (such as the article on men and zippers…sorry, guys :( ).  Being able to browse the categories as well was certainly a plus.  The few political based or economic articles I saw were written in a language and tone that I could understand well, were very recent, and not repetitive.  I do believe I have found a new site to love!
